ARISE, WOMEN OF FAITH (AWOF) is a prayer movement by women for their families, communities and nations. Women who will arise in this season, to take the battle in their hands.

Deborah was a judge in Israel, and the time came, when the nation was under so much oppression that all the men had lost their strength, and faith in God. At the time, God raised Deborah as the presiding judge in the nation.

God raises up a new person, when he wants to bring change in the society. He raised Deborah as a judge in the nation. She was your normal wife and mother, but she had great faith in God, and His promises. She was also a prophetess, and a voice of God, and she did not act of her own accord, but according to the instructions of the Lord.

God also bestowed upon her, great authority for her position, and she could summon Barak, the commander of the Israel army to summon the troops and go to war.

6 She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The LORD, the God of Israel, commands you: ‘Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them up to Mount Tabor. 7 I will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.’” (Judges 4:6-7)

Deborah knew her authority as judge, and a voice of God, and she knew it was not time to fear what men would say; or what society would say about her as a woman. She knew that it was her time to rise up, and give God’s instructions for the redemption of her nation. She knew that God had positioned her as a judge, and given her the experience of judging disputes in the land to gain the respect required before men. She knew God had bestowed wisdom and revelation upon her for the benefit of her generation and nation. She did not falter, but participated alongside the men to ensure that God’s instructions were carried out for the victory in the nation. God gave Deborah and Barak the victory in the battle against the Canaanites. They rose up, even in their fear, and obeyed God’s instructions.
